Who we are

CopyVideoText is a Chrome extension published by ICHO DIGITAL LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the extension does with information when you use it.

What the extension does

When you press "Copy text" (or use the keyboard shortcut), the extension pauses the video, takes a picture of the current video frame, and recognizes the text in it using a text-recognition engine that runs inside your browser. The text you select is copied to your clipboard.

Information processed on your device only

• Video frames: a picture of the paused frame is used to read the text, then discarded. It is never uploaded.
• Copied text and history: text you copy is saved in your browser's local storage together with the page address, page title, the moment in the video and a small preview image, so you can find it again and jump back. This history stays on your device. You can delete single items or clear everything at any time from the extension's menu.
• Settings: your preferences (for example, language and button options) are saved with Chrome's storage. If you have Chrome sync turned on, Chrome may sync these settings between your own devices through your Google account.
• Page text for language detection: to choose the right reading language, the extension looks at the page's title and visible text on your device. This text is not stored or sent anywhere.

What we don't do

• We don't collect personal information, browsing history or the content of the pages you visit.
• We don't send your videos, screenshots or copied text to any server.
• We don't use analytics, tracking or advertising.
• We don't sell or transfer data to third parties.

Language downloads

English and Arabic are built in. If another language is needed (for example Chinese or Russian), the extension downloads that language's recognition data once from a public content delivery network (cdn.jsdelivr.net) and keeps it in your browser. This download is a normal file request: like any web request, the network provider can see your IP address, but no video, image or text from you is sent.

Permissions

The extension asks for access to websites so it can show the "Copy text" button on videos, capture the visible video frame when you ask it to, and jump back to a saved moment. It only acts when you use it and doesn't read or collect page content for any other purpose.

Children

The extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
